Today we are witnessing the installation of the holiday lights for 2024 on our King Street camera as well as our Courthouse cam. Tune in to watch as the trees come to life with light in Old Town and twinkle on through the winter season!
Alexandria’s Christmas Charm
Each year, as noted in the Southern Living article, The Christmas Charm in Alexandria, Virginia is Irresistible published in November 2023, the King Street corridor and other parts of Old Town are brightened by the addition of twinkly lights in the trees to complement the light of candles in the windows and gas flamed porch lights down alleyways and side streets.
Even on the chilliest evening, the streets of Old Town feel warm and welcoming, with bustling traffic of holiday shoppers and locals mingling in cafes, bars and restaurants. As the sun goes down, the lights come up, and the city gets a second wind.
