Everything You Need to Know to Go

Who Can Splish and Splash?

Here’s one important note. The City’s Dog Swims page says the August 16 launch at Memorial is for friendly dogs under 25 pounds. Some City listings use broader language about “all sizes,” which has caused confusion. If you have a bigger pup, check the registration page before you go.

How to Register

Registration is required in advance and is free. The City asks owners to register by dog, not by person. The Zebra also notes that each dog may be signed up for one session. Reserve your time on the City’s recreation site.

What to Bring and How to Prep

Arrive a few minutes early for check‑in. Bring your dog’s rabies tag or certificate. Pack fresh water and a towel or two. Expect wet pool decks and overly excited dogs, so wear shoes with good traction. Keep your pup leashed around the pool and follow staff instructions. No zoomies! These simple steps help everyone enjoy a safe swim.

What to Remember Before You Go

Confirm your session time in the app. Bring your proof of rabies vaccination for your doggo and your leash. (Check the maximum pupper weight rule for the Memorial Pool date.) Plan parking and transit ahead of time. Plans changed? Be considerate and release your slot. Another dog will be thrilled to take your place.

Tips for a Great Pool Day for Your Pup

Pack a spare towel for the ride home. Offer water breaks between swims. Give nervous dogs space to acclimate. Watch for signs of fatigue. Step out early if your best friend is done with this pool business. Be courteous at the gate and on deck. Don’t forget to pick up any of your besties’ messes.
